The Federal Way High School Foundation, as well as Eagles past and present, extend our continued thoughts and support to D’Londo and Deeshawn Tucker. Both young men exemplify the Federal Way Eagle spirit, and continue to demonstrate courage and grace through adversity. In all they do in the classroom and on the playing fields, we lift them up to soar like mighty Eagles.
Please help us support D’Londo and Deeshawn by making a donation in their name through the link below. Your generous contribution will help them with expenses for school and other important milestones in their lives. Thank you.

Federal Way High School started in 1938 and is rooted in seven decades of exceptional students, talented graduates and dedicated staff who, together, have established rich and strong traditions and a deep commitment to excellence. Located on its original site, Federal Way High School is the flagship of the Federal Way community.
Federal Way High School, however, faces far different challenges today than in years past. Did you know:
-
The Federal Way School District ranks 263rd out of the 296 school districts in the state of Washington in dollars-per-student funding;
-
57 percent of all Federal Way High School students participate in ‘free and reduced lunch’ programs, as compared to approximately one-third of students in other comparable Federal Way School District schools;
-
Since 2002, Federal Way High School students have to pay athletic participation fees (roughly $100 per season) to participate in high school athletics;
-
Since 2005, Federal Way Associated Students have to pay all transportation costs for activities and athletics rather than those costs historically being covered by the school district; and,
-
Federal Way High School ASB funds available for student programs are approximately $220,000 less (roughly 30%) than other high schools in the district due to many students’ inability to afford the ASB fees and the difficulty enlisting our school community in extra fund-raising efforts.

In its first year of existence, the Federal Way High School Foundation is making a difference in the lives of teachers and students. In the past year:
-
The Foundation helped purchase technology for six classrooms, in order to help teachers teach more effectively;
-
The Foundation helped send 8 students to a high school leadership camp sponsored by the Washington Secondary School Principals Association, with the knowledge that those student leaders would come back and impact meaningful change in student activities;
-
The Foundation purchased meals for 300 people in the AVID program as they worked to help make improvements to the Federal Way High School campus;
-
The Foundation coupled with Federal Way High School faculty to sponsor two families during the holiday season;
-
The Foundation is helping support the formation of Food Pantry at Federal Way High School so students in need have a safe place to find food for meals outside of the school day; and,
-
The Foundation purchased contact lenses for student leader/student athlete, which allowed him to compete in varsity athletics and excel in the classroom.

Moving forward, the Federal Way High School Foundation’s goal is to raise $1 million, in order to establish a permanent endowment to support students in five facets of Federal Way High School:
-
Academics;
-
Activities;
-
Arts;
-
Athletics; and
-
A.V.I.D. (Advancement Via Individual Determination)
With your help and support, we can sustainably meet the needs at Federal Way High School in each of these areas, and produce proud and capable graduates who understand and embody all that it means to be a Federal Way Eagle.
